RTCU Deployment Server
Manage software and file updates across field installations through the RTCU Communication Hub.
Maintain remote device software
The Deployment Server works with the Communication Hub to maintain specified firmware, application and file versions across remote installations. It runs as a Windows service for automatic server start-up.
Background transfer allows the application to keep running while new software is sent. Transfer and activation are separate: automatic or application-driven policies determine when to switch to the new firmware or application.
- Interrupted transfers resume from the point of interruption.
- Up to 1,000 simultaneous upgrade sessions.
- Applications can use VPL upgrade notifications.
- Automatic programming of unprogrammed factory-delivered units.
Control updates and file delivery
- Scheduled upgrade policies.
- Upload user-defined files to devices.
- Directory synchronization between server and device.
- Remote maintenance, diagnostics, logging and status information.
- Filtering, device bookmarks and comma-delimited data import/export.
Integrate with your backend
The Deployment Server API lets a user-written application control the functionality offered by RDS Manager. Its documentation and package are provided separately from the server and Manager installers.
Keep package generations distinct
RDS Manager 6.x requires 64-bit Windows. Use matching server and Manager packages and consult their release history for version-specific requirements.
A license for the RTCU Communication Hub is required. Check the device firmware, application requirements and activation policy before scheduling an installation update.
